We now know that thrombosis and cancer are bound by a two-way link: not only is the risk of thrombosis higher among cancer patients, but activation of the coagulation system favors tumor growth. The Foundation\u2019s aim is to break this vicious cycle between cancer and thrombosis, and gain an understanding of what is really involved to develop strategies for prevention and effective antithrombotic therapies.
