The Artet Foundation renews its governance: Raffaella Giavazzi is the new president.

Change at the helm of Fondazione Artet Onlus, founded in 2018 to promote research into the relationship between thrombosis, haemostasis and tumours, scientific dissemination and active care assistance.

The board of directors has appointed Raffaella Giavazzi as president for the three-year period 2025–2028. Already research coordinator at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan and member of Artet’s technical-scientific committee, Giavazzi takes over from Roberta Sestini, who assumes the role of vice-president alongside the confirmed Giovanna Terzi Bosatelli.

There are also changes in the composition of the board of directors: in addition to Giavazzi, Falanga, Terzi Bosatelli and Sestini, Ambra Finazzi, Patrizia Numa and Patrizia Contini join the board, with specific expertise in fundraising and event organisation.

The Foundation’s Technical and Scientific Committee has also been partially renewed, welcoming three new members: Luca Barcella, director of the Papa Giovanni Transfusion Centre; Gabriele Alari, director of the Angiology Department at the Casa di Cura Palazzolo; and Marina Marchetti, Head Biologist at Papa Giovanni.

The following members have been confirmed: Andrea D’Alessio, consultant oncologist at Asst Bergamo Ovest; Anna Falanga, professor of Advanced Specialisation at the University of Milan-Bicocca (committee coordinator);

Domenico Gerbasi, head of coordination at the Breast Unit of ASST Bergamo Est; Raffaella Giavazzi, pharmacologist; Roberto Labianca, oncologist; Fabrizio Lazzarini, general manager of Fondazione Carisma; Elisabetta Olivari, journalist and communicator.

Founded exclusively to pursue social solidarity objectives at national and international level, Fondazione Artet promotes research, training, assistance and dissemination projects in the healthcare sector, with a particular focus on patients suffering from coagulation disorders and tumours. Its work is based on a strong multidisciplinary approach and dialogue between doctors, scientists, healthcare institutions and citizens.
