We are living in days of uncertainty and difficulty, but if we all pull together, we can get through it. Fondazione ARTET works closely with those affected, directly or not, by this disease, of which we still know too little. The Foundation is working unceasingly, collaborating with the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, to seriously help in the battle against the virus.
Unfortunately, it is clear that thrombosis and, in the worst cases, pulmonary embolism are frequent complications in these patients, sometimes causing their death. The Hemostasis and Thrombosis group, with its team of medical and biological researchers, coordinated by Anna Falanga, is in the front line ‘managing’ these complications, regularly monitoring coagulation in these patients.
Only scientific research will enable us to discover more about the virus, and stop it. Only research will fight our fears.
