COVID-19: Ministry of Health Official Recommendations for patients with cancer or hematological malignancies.

These patients are particularly vulnerable, and are at high risk during this COVID-19 emergency.  These recommendations, issued by the Ministry of Health and the Civil Defence Technical Committee,  illustrate how to behave in order to tackle the emergency.

The Guide recommends all patients to observe the following hygiene rules:

  • wear a mask – those widely used, including surgical masks – when outside your home, particularly if you have to go to a hospital for visits, tests and/or treatment;
  • frequently wash your hands thoroughly;
  • do not accept visits in your home from relatives or friends with respiratory symptoms, or from visitors coming from areas of high risk;
  • to avoid contagion, keep a distance of at least one meter from anyone with respiratory symptoms. Make sure they wear a mask.
